It’s been a few weeks since I last blogged — it’s been a busy summer! Between trips across the country, visitors from out of town and getting out as much as we can to enjoy the beautiful summer in Ottawa, there has been a lot going on.
A couple of weeks ago my brother, Nick, and his wife, Lauren, came to visit. We had an awesome time exploring Ottawa together and, of course, going out to eat all sorts of tasty food.
Our first stop was lunch after their flight arrived and I decided pizza at Anthony’s, which is just a short walk down the street, would be perfect.
We were all starving by the time we arrived at the restaurant, so after a quick peruse of the menu we decided to share a few pizzas between the four of us.
The Rustica pizza is a red sauce pizza topped with prosciutto, mozzarella, shaved parmesan, cherry tomatoes and arugula.
The Super pizza is also a red sauce pizza with a delicious combination of mozzarella, ricotta, roasted red peppers and sausage.
The Romana pizza is topped with fior di latte, ricotta and rapini.
I’ve never been disappointed with the pizza at Anthony’s and our visit was no exception. The crusts were nice and crispy on the bottom and perfectly chewy on the inside; the perfect vessel for the different, delicious topping combinations. I’ve tried a number of different pizzas from Anthony’s and they have all been amazing.
The only bad thing about Anthony’s is that it is located ridiculously close to us, which could mean bad things for our waistlines…. but I mean, with pizza that good, it would probably be worth it.
