Catelli Healthy Harvest Ancient Grains Pasta Giveaway

A couple of weeks ago I had the privilege of attending a cooking demonstration with Chef Lynn Crawford where she was showcasing Catelli’s new Healthy Harvest Ancient Grains Pasta. Chef Lynn is one of my favourite chefs on the Food Network, I particularly like watching her show Pitchin’ In.

Over the course of the evening we learned about the new Ancient Grains pasta and Chef Lynn demonstrated a handful of different applications for it. Catelli’s new Ancient Grains pasta includes 5 different ancient grains: quinoa, amaranth, teff, sorghum and millet. It’s hearty and filling, with a slight nutty taste, and is a healthy alternative to your traditional, white pasta. I actually boiled some up earlier this week, topped it with spinach, turkey sausage and tomato sauce, and I was very pleased with the result. Tasty, healthy and filling!

It was pretty cool to meet Chef Lynn; truthfully I was a little starstruck. She is quite the character, with a large personality and was a lot of fun.

    i would love to win the pasta, i have been looking in local stores since i’ve noticed that chef lynn was here – cant find anywhere in old strathcona area! ;(

    I like a simple parm and olive oil sauce with a couple of different veg thrown in – spinach and mushrooms or broccoli and peas.

    My favourite pasta dish, is one that we made up. Any kind of pasta with pesto, grape tomatoes, mushrooms, asparagus and prawns with parmesan and pine nuts!

    I love spaghettini with artichokes, olive oil, garlic, greek olives, sundried and fresh tomatoes, parmasen cheese, lemon juice and mushrooms.
